I Am What I Am
(and that's all I am)

These are from a recent trip to the grocery store. Both of these confused me and we had to leave.

real maple syrup

"The maple syrup is so real we had to put it in quotes!"

whole and also cut-up

Wait... What?

The dude's got a crown, so he must know what he's talking about. I wonder if he wears it around the house.

Okay, I finally pulled some pics of Tag off the camera.

And here's a bonus pic of a huge caterpillar that was on our porch for a couple of days...

caterpillar!

I thought I took a great picture that framed the caterpillar and Pete the cat (see his paw over there?) but I guess I goofed it up. It's true, technology isn't much of a friend to me.

Here's a flyer we got in the mail. Notice anything wrong with it?

Hint: "anytime day or night" is followed by delivery hours
Has the whole copy editor profession been done away with?

Also of note is the fact that they won't deliver to us because we're outside the city limits (we're ten minutes away, tops, from them).

Oh, How Silly!

A collection of humorous poetry for kids from 1970.

Proof that the sense of humor in America has changed in the last 35 years.

The book itself is lots of fun, with poems by William Cole, Jack Prelutsky, Shel Silverstein and lots more (drawings by Tomi Ungerer).

I dreamed that college basketball teams were paid per game. I asked some sports fan which team had been paid the least and the most for games in the same season. He laughed and said "Kentucky".

I don't know anything about college basketball and don't have any particular connection to Kentucky, so I have no idea why I'd dream that as the answer. Weird.

Song playing in my head when I woke up:
"Fireball XL-5" as performed by Jesus Couldn't Drum

###################

Dreamed something about Alan Hale, Jr. (Skipper from Gilligan's Island) and then Bob Denver (Gilligan). Weird. Denver was standing at a podium speaking – dressed as Gilligan – and I remember trying to see if gray hair was showing under his hat. (It seems that every time he did a guest appearance on a tv show after Gilligan's Island had ended, they never bothered to color his hair – which had gone gray – and it always destroyed the illusion.)

I'm sure glad my dream time isn't wasted.
